Gas to Swanbank Power Station
We have established a joint venture with CS Energy to deliver 18 Petajoules of gas per year to the Swanbank Power Station in south east Queensland.
Who is CS Energy?
CS Energy is a major power generator in Queensland. It is wholly owned by the State Government of Queensland. The joint venture with CS Energy has been established to supply gas to the Swanbank power station from 2011 onwards.
What are the Farm-in Terms?
CS Energy has invested $11.05 million in the project to date by funding exploration work in three blocks of PEL 16 (the Stratheden farm-in area). In doing so, CS Energy has earned a 15% interest in the farm-in area. The goal of the first stage of the farm-in is to establish sufficient 2P gas reserves to supply CS Energy with 18 Petajoules of gas per year.
Under the second stage of the farm-in CS Energy will provide the first $94.5 million in development expenditure for the field to take their interest in the coal seam gas rights in the Stratheden farm-in area to 50%.
