Ignore anti-CSG scare campaigns

If Australia is to become a major player in the rapidly developing international gas industry, it must first overcome determined scare campaigns over coal seam gas by a coalition of green and farmers’ groups, including the notorious Lock The Gate. Despite potentially vast reserves of gas which can power our industry and slash the emissions required to generate our electricity, those campaigns, have already panicked state governments in Victoria and in NSW, with the help of radio ­personality Alan Jones, into locking up large swaths of the states from development.
